Dallas’ objective this summer is Kyrie for AD sign-and-trade. If AD doesn’t ball in these last 23 games, the Lakers might look at something like that.”
There is no doubt that adding Kyrie Irving would be good for the Los Angeles Lakers offensively, but it is hard to see the point guard being able to replace Anthony Davis’ impact on the defensive end. The Lakers also have a solid point guard in D’Angelo Russell, who they reportedly have “long-term plans” for.
Even though Kyrie Irving is a good player, trading Anthony Davis to acquire him would be a mistake. He does not contribute on the defensive end, while Anthony Davis is a legitimate two-way player that can anchor a championship-level defense.
