On Friday night, LeBron James and his Los Angeles Lakers faced the young Cleveland Cavaliers. This problematic rival kept things interesting until the 4th quarter. The purple and gold got the final advantage to win the game 113-101.

The game turned out to be more interesting than expected, as the Cavs, for some time, confirmed that young players aren’t scared of the Lakers’ Big 3. LeBron James returned to the lineup after a two-game absence, dropping 26 points on his former team.

In a night where he celebrated 18 years since he made his debut in the league, Bron saw a group of new players doing their thing on the court, especially Evan Mobley, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Mobley is expected to become the next big thing for the Cavs and he’s already showing flashes of what he could be in the future.

He caught the attention of plenty of people and earned big praise from LeBron James. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar lauded the young player, recalling that he used to play against Bronny James.

“He’s gonna be a damn good basketball player in this league. It’s so crazy because he was just playing against my son a couple years ago. It’s weird. It’s getting more weird by the day.”

LeBron on Evan Mobley: "He's gonna be a damn good basketball player in this league. It's so crazy because he was just playing against my son a couple years ago. It's weird. It's getting more weird by the day."

Even though people doubted that Mobley could get some good looks with all the big men on the Cavaliers’ roster, he has told otherwise. He still has a lot of room to improve, but there’s no doubt the 20-year-old will make a lot of noise if he fulfills his potential.

He finished the night with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, leading his Cavs against the overpowered Lakers. The future is bright for this kid, and not only LeBron James praised him, but Carmelo Anthony. Evan’s ceiling is unknown right now and that only makes the Cavaliers fans dream about their future.

LeBron has realized things are changing for him recently. First, he faced former Bronny’s teammate Ziaire Williams and now a former rival in Evan Mobley.
