Hip-hop and basketball are married together in a way very few sports can connect with a specific genre. NBA players have tried being hip-hop artists while drawing a lot of inspiration from the music. Similarly, the players inspire these artists to be the best they can be through their work on the court.

Michael Jordan, who once allegedly said ‘f*ck rap’ at a party, is a part of Travis Scott’s latest album rollout. A video of MJ and Travis having a conversation was released to hype up the album that’s expected to release in 2023. The conversation was seemingly about Travis’ next shoe design with Jordan Brand.

Michael Jordan: “What up dawg?”

Travis Scott: “What up Black! What up baby! What’s up, man, oh man it’s a new me today, ain’t it?”

Michael Jordan: “What you doing man?”

Travis Scott: “We over here trying to get it together, been working on that thang.”

Michael Jordan: “I saw it man, it looks nice. You did a good job, I love it.”

This album is Scott’s first album in five years, with the artists often being seen closely around NBA circles. He has hosted NBA players at his concerts, performed at Bronny James’ 18th birthday, and even met up with Victor Wembanyama in France. He loves the game, so getting to work with Jordan has to be a dream come true.

Michael Jordan And Travis Scott’s Relationship

Jordan and Scott aren’t an odd couple pairing, with the pair establishing business ties over the last few years. Scott has been a collaborator with the Jordan Brand in releasing highly exclusive and coveted shoes. This collaboration has been immensely successful for both MJ and Travis, which has led to the pair having a personal relationship.

Scott’s first public appearance after the highly controversial Astrofest in 2021 came when he was spotted playing golf with Jordan. The pair may not be best friends, but it’s very interesting to see how they’ve built a relationship despite the difference in age and personal tastes.
