Draymond Green may have an actual problem controlling himself, as the Warriors’ forward once again finds himself thrown out of a game for excessive violence. Green punched Jusuf Nurkic during the Warriors vs. Suns game and was promptly ejected from the game. Some fans are shocked but almost every fan is amused by Green’s descent from a defensive juggernaut to whatever he is now.

Fans are seeing there’s a correlation between Green’s aggressive fouls in recent times and his decline as a basketball player.
The worse Draymond gets at basketball the more insane his fouls get

Many fans are just sad watching one of the core pieces of the league’s most recent championship dynasty be reduced to this.
Draymond Green is becoming the caricature people painted him as. As a premiere appreciator of his game, it makes me sad

Green is fresh off a five-game suspension he served for putting Rudy Gobert in a chokehold. With other incidents this season against the likes of Terance Mann, Donovan Mitchell, and Anthony Edwards, the league needs to step in and do something about Green’s escalation in violent behavior.
The track record is getting absurd, as Green also did knock out his own teammate in pre-season practice in 2022, as well as stomping on Domantas Sabonis’ chest during the playoffs. We all want to see more aggression in the game, but there comes a point where the NBA has to punish Green to protect other players.
If a player retaliates on the court, they will also be punished. So, if the NBA can’t deal with Draymond, they have to be wary of what other players might do on the court to protect themselves from a man who’s proving he can’t go five games without hitting someone.
Will Draymond Green Be Suspended?
For 99% of the players in the NBA, this incident would possibly lead to a fine at worst. If another player was injured, the penalty would be worse. But Draymond is the 1% of players that thinking should no longer apply to.
The Warriors and their fans can be upset about the treatment that singles Draymond out, but they can’t really show us any other player that has a propensity to not just be dirty, but be violent with other players as often as Green.
Adrian Wojnarowski has already made it clear that another suspension could be headed Green’s way.
“Draymond Green will have to await a league office review and the possibility of another suspension.”

For a league that punished Ja Morant with a 25-game suspension for showing a gun in the privacy of his own car, they need to make a statement with whatever punishment Green is given. What Green is doing is worse for the NBA product, is patterned behavior that milder punishments haven’t changed, and actively puts other players in danger.
The Warriors have enabled Green’s behavior in the past by calling him an enforcer, but even the franchise needs to step in and control their player before he burns their competitive window to the ground.
