Anthony Davis has already spent four seasons donning the iconic Purple and Gold jersey. In his stint, AD has helped the Los Angeles Lakers win one NBA Championship.
Apart from that, the Lakers reached the Western Conference Finals in 2023, albeit getting swept by the Denver Nuggets. According to CBS Sports’ Bill Reiter, there is about a 3.5% chance that the Lakers will trade Anthony Davis this offseason because LeBron James is frustrated with him.
“I think there’s a 3.5% chance,” Reiter revealed on The Zach Gelb Show.” There is a bit of a power struggle or political struggle going on between LeBron and Pelinka. LeBron obviously wants what he wants, but I think Pelinka’s got the political capital now with Jeanie Buss and in the organization… I don’t think Pelinka will just bow down to what LeBron wants, especially moving on from Anthony Davis, but I do think LeBron’s over AD, and I think there’s a non 0% chance of something like that is going to happen.”

Anthony Davis’ inability to stay healthy has hurt the Lakers during the 2020-21 and 2021-22 NBA seasons. In his four years with the team, Davis has played a total of 194 games.
Sure, he has averaged 24.6 PPG, 10.1 RPG, and 3.0 APG during that stretch. The Lakers, including LeBron, want him to be more consistent.
LeBron James Is Reportedly Frustrated With Anthony Davis
LeBron James and Anthony Davis were viewed as two players who shared a close bond even off the court. But a few cracks have started to appear in their friendship.
Davis didn’t even celebrate when LeBron broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record. It was certainly unnatural of AD not to celebrate an all-time historic feat.
Now, a report has emerged that James is frustrated with Davis. James has apparently had enough of Davis’ lack of toughness over the years.
“LeBron’s moody. LeBron changes his mind on people, and here’s something that he thinks is true one minute… I have heard he’s over Anthony Davis. He’s frustrated with the guy. He doesn’t believe in his toughness for obvious reasons.”
If the report is true, the Lakers will have a choice to make this summer. They wouldn’t want to upset James as he could demand a trade and take his talents elsewhere.
