  • NBA insider Brian Windhorst reveals details if LeBron James will play for Team USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics
  • Bronny James’ health is a major factor for the King
  • James last played for Team USA in 2012, winning the gold medal

LeBron James has achieved everything a player can imagine while playing basketball at a professional level. That includes winning two Olympic gold medals with Team USA in 2008 and 2012.

But since the 2012 London Olympics, fans have been aching to see James wear Team USA colors one more time. James is currently 38 years old, and if he wants to play for the national time one last time, the 2024 Paris Olympics will be perfect for him. NBA insider Brian Windhorst recently dropped crucial details about LeBron James’ potential return to Team USA.

“He never rules it out, typically, until the end,” Windhorst said in a recent episode of the Hoop Collective podcast. “Right now he’s dealing with his family issue. But he typically would leave the door open. He has now not played in over a decade. So that’s obviously a factor.

“Plus, he likes spending time with his family at you know, his boys’ AAU events in the summer, not sure if the Olympics come much earlier, you’re cutting into the heart of the summer there.”

As things stand right now, Windhorst believes that James won’t make the decision to play for Team USA until the very last moment.

Considering his 18-year-old son Bronny recently suffered a cardiac arrest, it’s pretty understandable if he wants to spend more time with him instead. While James isn’t playing for Team USA, he’s still showing support to his teammates.

LeBron James praised his Los Angeles Lakers teammate Austin Reaves, who recently made his Team USA debut. Reaves had a hot 4-5 start to the game and racked up 9 points, in the 117-74 win over Puerto Rico.

LeBron James For Team USA

So far, LeBron James has featured in 43 senior appearances for Team USA. In those games, James has averaged 13.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.

James is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, winning in 2008 and 2012. He also won the bronze medal with Team USA in 2004.

Apart from that, the King also won a gold medal FIBA Americas Championship 2007. James was also a part of Team USA that won the bronze medal in the 2006 FIBA World Championship.

Fans are patiently waiting for the 38-year-old to make one last appearance in Team USA colors. If he truly wants it, the wish will most likely come true in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
