Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets made a statement in their win against the Philadelphia 76ers. In the first meeting between the two sides since they agreed to a massive trade that sent Ben Simmons and James Harden to Brooklyn and Philadelphia respectively, there was anticipation surrounding how the game would go.

The Nets dominated the 76ers, as they picked up a comfortable blowout win against their conference rivals. After the game, Kevin Durant added more fuel to the burning rivalry, taking shots at the 76ers and their style of play, especially when it comes to them running their offense.

“We ran them, they’re not really a good transition team.”

Durant certainly earned his bragging rights after the way he played against the 76ers. He scored 25 points and picked up 14 rebounds to help get his team the win. On top of that, he also took some shots at the 76ers fanbase, noting how quiet they got after the Nets dominated and stopped chanting negative things about Ben Simmons who was on the bench.

Durant even had an altercation with 76ers’ star and current MVP standout Joel Embiid. Things got chippy between the two, and they traded words with each other. It was an interaction that had fans buzzing, as they got to see two of the NBA’s best players jaw-jack each other. The Nets-76ers game truly had everything, as it was one of the most entertaining games this season.

Charles Barkley slammed Durant’s former teammate James Harden for the way he played, noting that he had done nothing to improve his reputation as a player who doesn’t step up in the big moments. And given the way Harden played last night, it’s hard to disagree with him. Fans will be hoping that the Nets and 76ers take on each other in a playoff series in the next few months.
