Rudy Gobert has recently been traded for a giant haul to the Minnesota Timberwolves. As Gobert is a multiple-time All-Star and multiple-time DPOY, there’s no doubt that the Utah Jazz wanted a lot of assets for him.

The full deal consisted of Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, Leandro Bolmaro, and multiple first-round picks. Rudy Gobert isn’t even the best player on the trade market currently, as Kevin Durant has requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets.

Utah is trading Rudy Gobert to Minnesota, sources tell ESPN.

The Timberwolves are sending Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Walker Kessler, Jarred Vanderbilt, and multiple first-round picks for Gobert, sources tell ESPN.

Leandro Bolmaro is also in the deal to the Jazz, source said.

There is an obvious question to be asked here. If Rudy Gobert commands this much, then what will the return for the Kevin Durant trade end up being? Richard Jefferson has recently joked that Durant would command the country of “France” in a trade when reacting to the Rudy Gobert package.

Malika Andrews: “If this is what Rudy Gobert commands, what exactly is Kevin Durant going to command?”

Richard Jefferson: “France.”

There is no doubt that a lot of teams could potentially give up huge offers for Kevin Durant, as he is one of the best superstars in the league. His ability on offense is well regarded, and Durant could definitely be a difference-maker for a lot of teams. Kevin Durant’s preferred destinations are the Phoenix Suns and the Miami Heat.

It remains to be seen which team ends up winning the Kevin Durant sweepstakes. Given the player empowerment in the league currently, it is quite likely that Kevin Durant will end up playing for a team that he wants to play for, and it’ll definitely be an interesting situation to watch.
