The Phoenix Suns suffered a big elimination last season at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks. When everybody thought they would go toe-to-toe against the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, Luka Doncic and co. told otherwise, demolishing the Suns in an infamous Game 7.

This season, things have started better for them, with Devin Booker playing at a great level, leading his team to be one of the best in the West again. Nevertheless, the Suns could be looking for pieces to improve their game and an Eastern Conference big man could be a great addition to them.

They already have Deandre Ayton on the roster, but could bolster their frontcourt with a trade for one of the best power forwards in the East. This appears to be a long shot right now, but the Suns could pull this off. They’ve been linked with big names recently and that doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.

John Collins Could Join Phoenix Suns

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Suns have shown interest in Atlanta Hawks’ big man John Collins, but they have some concerns about making a move for Collins’ big contract.

The Hawks have opened up preliminary trade discussions around forward John Collins, as interested teams inquire, league sources tell The Athletic. The Suns are a team showing desire in Collins, those sources have added, but they appear uninclined to take on the long-term money of Collins, who is in the second season of a five-year, $125 million contract.

The Suns are already a big team in the West. They keep competing every season, but many think this is the time for them to finally win a championship. Other than that will be considered a failure for this squad. It seems like they’re just fine without Collins, but John could be a good addition to them come playoffs time.

They keep trying to move Jae Crowder and recently were closed to completing this trade. On the other hand, they could receive another forward in Collins.
