Anthony Edwards‘ girlfriend, Shannon Jackson, spoke recently about Edwards having children with other women. She noted that she also has children with other people, and she isn’t going to end things with him because Edwards had children outside of their relationship.

“They say I’m one of god’s strongest soldiers. Put me on the frontline. They say ‘un-baby daddy him’. If I gotta un-baby daddy him, I gotta un-baby daddy the first one! Y’all just finding out… “

Of course, in matters such as these that involve a player’s personal life, fans shouldn’t try and comment too much on this. However, it appears that the couple is not letting their children and prior relationships get in the way of their current relationship. Considering how dicey these situations can get, it’s good to see Edwards and Jackson handle this maturely.

Edwards welcomed a baby girl last year with Jackson, and the birth was chronicled in the recent Netflix show ‘Starting 5’. where Edwards left a Timberwolves game at half-time to be able to witness the birth of his child. Outside of his relationship with Jackson, Edwards has reportedly had a child with another woman recently.

And a few weeks ago, Edwards petitioned model Ayesha Howard, the ex-girlfriend and mother of rapper Lil Baby’s child, for a paternity test of a child that he may be the father of. For a young man like Edwards, this can be seen as him trying to get his family affairs in order, as he navigates his time as an independent adult.

Anthony Edwards Turns Attention To New Season

With Anthony Edwards’ family matters seemingly going okay, he will have a chance to focus on his NBA career now. With the new NBA season beginning, Edwards and the Timberwolves have begun their NBA campaign for 2024-25 evenly. After losing to the Lakers on opening night, the Timberwolves turned things around, beating the Sacramento Kings.

Edwards played well in his first game against the Lakers despite the 110-103 loss, putting up 27 points, six rebounds, and three assists. He shot 10-25 from the field, and 5-13 from, which is inefficient from his standards despite the number of shot attempts being par for the course for him.

In the win 117-115 win against the Kings, Edwards put up similar numbers, delivering 32 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and one steal. Edwards shot 10-24 from the field, and 5-15 from the three-point line. But the big difference in last night’s game was Edwards being able to draw fouls, reaching the free-throw line seven times, and making all seven of his attempts.

Many consider Edwards to be one of the best players in the NBA right now, and he will need to take his game to another level if the Timberwolves want to stay competitive in what has become a stacked Western Conference. With the loss of Karl-Anthony Towns and the arrivals of Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo, the Timberwolves have a lot to figure out heading deeper into the new season.
