The Portland Trail Blazers have made a decision on Damian Lillard’s future. The point guard has been involved in plenty of rumors after the 2022-23 NBA season finished for him and his team, and the offseason will be crucial for them.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the team has shut down trade talks involving their superstar ahead of the 2023 NBA Draft. As the Miami Heat keeps studying their options to land Dame, the Blazers are not interested in any of that as of right now.
“They’re gonna be very anxious to watch what happens in Portland,” Wojnarowski said on the Pat McAfee show. “To see if there’s any point this summer where Damian Lillard becomes available.”

Dame isn’t on the trade block right now, and the team has no interest in shipping him somewhere else, rejecting anybody who dared to call about a potential trade.
“As of right now, the Blazers have shut down anybody who has called about the possibility of trying to trade for [Damian Lillard]. Pat Riley is always going to be real aggressive in trying to improve his team.”
The Heat were mentioned as finalists to land Bradley Beal over the weekend, but the Phoenix Suns were the ones securing that deal on Sunday. Miami was reportedly interested in Lillard, and they’re ready to focus their attention on the former Rookie of the Year award winner.
Lillard once again had a big season, averaging 32.2 points, 7.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds in 58 games. The guard wants to win in Portland and even gave the team an ultimatum ahead of the offseason. Time will tell of the Blazers make the right moves or if the player decides to part ways this summer.
Damian Lillard Gets Real On His Legacy Without A Championship
Lillard recently talked about his legacy and how a championship would affect the same. The player has been extremely loyal to the team, but everybody expects him to leave the team either this summer, ahead of the trade deadline, or next year’s summer.
This is a complex situation for everybody, but the Blazers need to make a decision on Lillard’s future before the situation gets out of control. And the Heat are ready to pick the player as soon as things get bad.
