Zion Williamson is playing at a high level right now, taking the New Orleans Pelicans to the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference thanks to his incredible displays and fun style of play.

After a couple of years where he was called ‘fat,’ a ‘bust’ and more, the former No. 1 overall pick is showing his talents on the court, dominating rivals and willing his team to beat the competition in a great fashion.

He was involved in controversy recently after he made a late-game windmill dunk that didn’t sit well with the Phoenix Suns. Many players took offense to that, but fans loved what Zion did. So much so that after a consecutive win over the Suns, many started calling Williamson the new owner of the Suns after Luka Doncic.

Shaquille O’Neal Is Impressed By Zion Williamson

Everybody is loving this version of Zion, and Shaquille O’Neal has nothing but good things to say about the forward, who keeps showing why he was the most hyped prospect in recent times. During a recent conversation with Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo! Sports, the 4-time NBA champion showered Williamson with praise.

“He’s probably a little bit more explosive than I was,” O’Neal said. “He’s playing great, he’s doing what he’s supposed to do. They’re number one in the West. I like what he did the other day — ‘0.1 seconds, I don’t care, I’m gonna throw it down for the fans.'”

“I like the way he’s playing. I wish him well. I have nothing bad to say about the young fella. Usually, I give a guy three to four years, but he plays hard every game.”

Shaq is the first person to criticize players when they’re playing badly, but he’s also ready to praise them when things are different. He did it with Anthony Davis and now with Zion. The former Duke player is having a season for the ages, demonstrating why he was selected as the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Shaq knows quality when he sees it, and it’s clear that Zion is having a terrific moment right now. The Pelicans are a threat to the rest of the Western Conference, and if Zion keeps playing at this level, they could make a deep playoff run.
