The NBA trade deadline is approaching, and fans of the league are waiting with bated breath to see which big move will happen first and start a flurry. There haven’t been too many concrete rumors of any potential big moves, but speculation continues to swirl. And it’s safe to say that teams that are in the thick of the playoff race will be looking to make some major improvements to their roster this season.

The Philadelphia 76ers and the Sacramento Kings both fit this description. The Sixers are the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference, while the Kings are the 3rd seed in the Western Conference. The two teams met on Saturday night, with Philadelphia getting a narrow win. And there was another development during this time that will be of interest to fans of both teams.

Daryl Morey Posted A Photo From Moneyball In A Reference To A Meeting With The Kings’ GM

Executives and GMs of every team are constantly meeting and discussing situations about their rosters and the players they may or may not want to acquire. Most of these conversations happen over the phone, but at times, executives will go meet one another in person. And Daryl Morey met Monte McNair recently, sharing a photo from the iconic movie Moneyball that has set fans’ imaginations on fire.

“Just met with @mmcnair because flying to a team’s city is of course how it is done.”

During this scene in the movie, Brad Pitt, who is playing a baseball GM has traveled to meet another GM in hopes of making a trade. So obviously, after he shared this pic, fans immediately wondered if he was hinting at a potential trade.

“At least we’ve already seen what Kevin Huerter looks like in red.”

“Richaun Holmes is coming home?”

“Holmes, TD and a couple second round picks for thybulle let’s wrap it up.”

“Kevin Huerter is a 76er.”

“Bring me Red Velvet.”

“You know what you doing, Morey, better come back with a deal.”

“It’s happening, It’s Richaun Holmes time.”

“Harden’s coming to the Kings and Lil Baby’s gonna light the beam.”

“BARNES AND HUERTER FOR TOBI GET IT DONE.”

“Bring Davion and Kevin back with you.”

There has been speculation about Tobias Harris for a while, while analysts have been suggesting various other trades for the Sixers as well. Monte McNair and Daryl Morey worked together in Houston, though, so this meeting was likely a meeting between old colleagues and friends more than it was a trade discussion.
