Luka Doncic is one of the best young talents in the world, but even he cannot win at the highest level on his own. Despite the staggering numbers that he put up in the first round, Luka Doncic was unable to will the Dallas Mavericks over the Los Angeles Clippers.

One of the people that was blamed for the disappointing loss was Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis definitely underperformed, and his numbers were drastically underperformed. Aside from the issues with his on-court production, it seems as though Kristaps Porzingis doesn’t get along well with Luka Doncic either, and reportedly has problems with Doncic dominating the ball.

Stephen A. Smith has recently stated that Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis don’t have the “greatest relationship” and has stated his belief that the Dallas Mavericks should trade him this offseason. (5:30)

Kristaps Porzingis is not seen as having the greatest relationship with Luka Doncic. A matter of fact, some people have accused him of being jealous… I’m telling you what I’m hearing from my sources in Dallas… Porzingis probably needs to go. They need to utilize him to get a bonafide secondary scoring option.

There is no question that the Dallas Mavericks need some offensive help, around Luka Doncic, and trading Kristaps Porzingis would be the easiest avenue to get it. It remains to be seen whether the Mavericks will move on from Porzingis, but if Stephen A. Smith is correct, there could be reasons to move him.
