Stephen A. Smith Seriously Warns Ja Morant: "If He Keeps On This Path, That Might Cost Him His Life."

Ja Morant cannot seem to keep himself out of trouble for long. Not even a month after getting eliminated from the playoffs, Morant was seen flashing a gun on Instagram Live... again.

Many have tried to defend Ja for his actions, but NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith is not one of them. In a recent video, Smith further blasted Morant for his actions and issued a serious warning to him.

"You got folks going out there, 'Ja do your thing. Do your thing, bro. Live your life. Really?!'" Smith said. "And not only might it cost him his career, if he keeps on this path, that might cost him his life. You see, some of us are from the streets. I knew plenty of dudes that are dead. I know plenty of dudes they're serving time. I know plenty of dudes who've murdered, who've robbed, who dealt drugs. They kept me off the streets, because they knew I wasn't about that life.

"And if there's one thing they taught me years ago, there is nothing real true hardcore street dudes detest more is somebody who ain't made from that cloth that's trying to act like they are. They're willing to accept the consequences of their actions and deal with whatever it is, because they made their choices. But they have no respect for cats who have made it and don't have to live that way and are stupid enough to try anyway. They have no respect for people like that, and neither should most of us. Ja Morant got to get his act together."

Stephen A. Smith tried his best to convey his message to Ja Morant. Now, whether he listens to him or not, it's entirely up to him.

If his past actions have been any indication, Morant may behave like he's getting his act together, but he won't truly improve.

Ja Morant Could Be Suspended For More Than Half A Season

Regardless of the root of Ja Morant's problem, he will not get the benefit of the doubt from the NBA this time.

Morant was handed an 8-game suspension when he flashed a gun two months ago. He was allowed to return to play basketball for the Memphis Grizzlies pretty soon.

But this time around, rival executives want the league to suspend Morant for at least half a season, if not more.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver should use this opportunity to make an example out of Ja, so no other player repeated such actions in the future.

We still hope that Morant finds a way to clean his act and return to playing elite basketball, but not at the cost of giving out the wrong message to the viewers.
