It isn’t easy being Ben Simmons, especially if you’re in Philadelphia playing for the 76ers — a team that he has a stormy past with.

Simmons had a forgettable outing in the Brooklyn Nets’ 137-133 loss to the Sixers, managing just 12 points, 5 rebounds, and as many assists.

In addition to being slammed for not taking shots in the game, he was also called out by a fan for not tucking his jersey in. One of the instances in the game saw the fan calling him out saying:

“Tuck your shirt in Ben! This isn’t a Call of Duty tournament!”

There is a reason for the game reference. Last year, news of the guard logging in more minutes playing the game instead of being on the NBA court did the rounds.

“Ben Simmons has more Call of Duty minutes played than in the NBA.

COD: 9,784

NBA: 9,326

No typos here.”

Simmons missed the entirety of his rookie season with the Sixers due to injury and then didn’t play for all of the 2021-22 season as well. He’s got lost ground to make up for, and for fans who were just looking for ammo to take shots, this was one of the things to call him out for.

Ben Simmons Looked Uncomfortable Taking Shots Against The Philadelphia 76ers

Whether it was a lack of confidence in his shooting or just the fact that it was Philadelphia, Simmons couldn’t get himself to shoot his way out of a slump.

While there were enough opportunities to pour in a few points, Simmons was seen passing the ball around, and that earned him a bad rap as well.

It’s not been the best of seasons for Simmons as he averages 7.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 6.4 assists, his career-lowest numbers. While he’s had his share of good games, which have been a few this year, he’s had forgettable outings.

The Nets will look for more from the Aussie as the business end of the regular season looms. They are playoff favorites at this moment, and Simmons will hope to strike form and consistency to help his side go the distance.
