The Los Angeles Clippers are headed into a game that will have major ramifications for their season as they face the Los Angeles Lakers in a rivalry match tomorrow night.

Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue spoke about the game in advance and said this is the first meaningful matchup between the teams, downplaying the over 2-year winning streak the Clippers are on.

“They’re playing at a high level and this is the first meaningful game that we’ve actually played. I don’t know why we’ve been so good (against the Lakers), but tomorrow will be different.”

Since Ty Lue took over as head coach of the Clippers in 2020, the Clippers haven’t lost a single game to the Lakers. This period also coincided with the Lakers’ roster going through calamitous changes, so tomorrow’s matchup is going to be crucial for both teams to find out what the actual strength of their roster is.

Most Important Regular Season Game Of The Season?

The Lakers are coming off an OT win against the Utah Jazz and will be playing with weary legs against the Clippers who have had a few days to rest up for this encounter. Russell Westbrook will be fiending for revenge in this matchup as the Lakers will look to get a crucial win that could catapult them to the 5th seed in the West.

Whether or not Anthony Davis and LeBron James play against the Clippers is something we have to wait and see. It’ll be tough for the Lakers to play both players for extended minutes against the Clippers if they’re exhausted from their game in Utah tonight. They have to travel back to LA and then suit up, quite an exhausting trip.

Hopefully, the Lakers can field a healthy lineup and win their first rivalry matchup against the Clippers since the 2020 bubble.
