Anthony Edwards is one of the brightest young talents in the NBA, and many expect him to be a crucial building block for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Edwards took a leap last season and performed admirably in the playoffs, though some of the deficiencies in his game were highlighted.

The player just turned 21 years old a couple of days ago, showing that there is a lot more potential to grow for the Timberwolves star. He has shown great defensive flashes and is already an elite scorer. If he takes a big step alongside Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns next season, the Timberwolves will be a force to be reckoned with.

With Gobert and KAT sharing duties in the paint, it is safe to assume teams may have to load up to keep the two 7-footers from dominating the inside. This will open up more catch-and-shoot opportunities for the Wolves’ perimeter players. Edwards is already gearing his offseason workouts towards maximizing that, as a clip of him practicing 3-point shots went viral.

Edwards’s shooting has been streaky so far in his career. While he has the ability, Edwards ends up going through cold spells that are expected of young players. Now that he will be called upon to be the primary perimeter player on a team with massive expectations, Ant is in the perfect position to flourish as a star next season.

Considering Ant is entering just his 3rd season in the league, it is fair to assume he won’t instantly be a game-changer for the Wolves on the perimeter. However, with the proper coaching and training regimens, Edwards can make himself infinitely more impactful on the court. Practicing catch-and-shoot 3s is one way to do so.

If he can continue putting in the right kind of work in the offseason, the growth for Edwards may be limitless.
