Vince Carter: ‘If Kawhi Wins Another Title, He Will Be In The Conversation For GOAT With Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant And LeBron James’

Kawhi Leonard is trying to win back-to-back titles this season, but this time with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Klaw is ready to lead his team to the promised land this season when they’re one of the biggest favorites to claim the championship. Leonard is already an established superstar in the league but he can still reach the next level since Vince Carter tipped him to be part of the GOAT conversation.

If he wins the title this year, it would be his third title with three different teams. Carter believes that’s enough to put him in the same conversation as great players like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. During a recent interview on ESPN’s Get Up!, Carter claimed Kawhi would join these three legends if he takes the ‘ship back to Los Angeles with the Clippers.

“A third championship for Kawhi would just bump him up to that next level, that upper echelon of basketball players in the history of the game… Kawhi puts himself in the conversation of one of the greatest players in our league’s history because of what he can accomplish, particularly if he wins MVP.”

“MJ, Kobe, and I think LeBron [are all in the conversation for greatest of all time]. … Kawhi, you win three championships, three MVPs, he’s now a conversation piece as well.”

Carter has an interesting point of view there. He even said LeBron would be a ‘step closer’ to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant if he gets that 4th title with the Lakers, but his main focus was Kawhi. He was overlooked because the 2014 Spurs were a great team and he had a lot of help in the Finals. However, after last year’s playoffs run, Leonard has shown he can lead a team win a championship.

Three Finals MVP with three different teams would be a great feat for him, especially if he took two teams to win titles for the first time in their history.
