Volleyball Player Admits She Blew Her Shot With Miami Heat Star Derrick Jones Jr.

Derrick Jones Jr. has been one of the best things for the Miami Heat this season, more after winning the 2020 Slam Dunk Contest. Even though he defeated Aaron Gordon and won the tournament under heavy controversy, nobody can deny Derrick is one of the best dunkers in the world right now.

After his win, Twitter user and volleyball player @britt__robinson took to the popular social media site and revealed that the Miami Heat star slid in her direct messages on Instagram just four years ago. She rejected him, but it was because she had a boyfriend at the time and had no intention of cheating on him.

Well, Robinson revealed her boyfriend turned out to be a liar and now she recognizes she messed up.

“Derrick Jones Jr. slid in my insta DMs 4 years ago and asked for my number and I didn’t give it to him bc I had a boyfriend…welp, my ex ended up being a lying piece of shit and Derrick Jones ended up winning the NBA Dunk Contest so you could say I messed up,” she wrote before making her Twitter profile private.

At the time of the exchange, Robinson was playing volleyball for University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, while Jones was preparing for the 2016 NBA Draft where he would be undrafted. He ended up signing as a free agent with the Phoenix Suns.

Somebody told her to go and contact Jones again, but she showed no intention to try something with the player, pointing out that he is now married with kids.

Sometimes life gives you opportunities and you can’t see how big they are until it’s too late.
