Kevin Durant On If Shaquille O’Neal Played In Current NBA: “He’d Be The Ultimate Cheat Code For The Game”

2 Min Read

Kevin Durant has praised one of the most dominant players in the history of the game, Shaquille O’Neal, even guessing how things would go if Shaq was part of the league at this moment.

During a recent appearance on the newest “Take It There” with Taylor Rooks, the Brooklyn Nets forward was asked which player from the 90s he would like to see in the league right now (11:19 mark).

“Shaq, for sure. He’s so big and agile, athletic that he can run and play in the space that we do now. But you could play small guys against him. So, he’d be the ultimate cheat code for the game,” Durant said.

Durant has a solid point there. Shaq was one of the most dominant players in the history of the league and several people believe he had all the tools to become the greatest player of all time. He won four titles with the Los Angeles Lakers (3) and the Miami Heat, playing a huge role in each championship.

If he played in today’s NBA, there is no doubt that his presence in the paint would make a huge difference. There aren’t many centers in the league that can bring the same things Shaq brought to the table during his playing days.

Seeing the way basketball is played today, O’Neal would be, as KD said, cheat code for the game.
