Zion Williamson is one of the most promising young players in the NBA as he is a dominant force when attacking the rim. There is no doubt that Zion Williamson has superstar potential.
Even though the Pelicans have a solid roster currently, there have been rumors about Zion Williamson’s family wanting the young star out of New Orleans. Many believe that his leaving the team is only a matter of time.
Zion Williamson’s step-father Lee Anderson has recently squashed rumors of the Williamsons being frustrated with the city and the franchise, claiming that they are “enjoying New Orleans” and adding that “the future is bright”.
“I don’t know where the comments or the rumblings or the misunderstandings came from. It’s always someone referring to someone in Zion’s camp. And ‘sources say.’ There are only four sources in Zion’s camp. Zion’s mom. That’s me. That’s Noah. And that’s Zion. If it didn’t come from one of us, they are not sources,
“We have not sourced information to anybody on Zion’s behalf at any time. If anybody can come back and say we said that, we’ll discount that. We’re enjoying New Orleans. We’re enjoying the fabric. We love the pickups that the Pelicans have made the last month or so. We’re excited about that. We think — the acquisitions they have made and Zion being on the mend 110 percent — we think the future is very bright in New Orleans right now.”
There is no doubt that the New Orleans Pelicans are a dangerous squad, even without their superstar. They have stars Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum currently, as well as solid role players such as Herb Jones. All they’re missing now is Zion Williamson.
Hopefully, Zion Williamson is able to return sooner rather than later. If not, then the New Orleans Pelicans can regroup for next season after the play-in/playoffs, and they’ll definitely be a good team in the Western Conference then.
