LeBron James will enter Year 21 of his NBA career in the 2023-24 season. It will be his sixth season with the Los Angeles Lakers. James helped the Lakers win an NBA Championship in 2020, the franchise’s first since 2010.
James will one day be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame and will get his Lakers jersey retired. But will the King get a statue outside the Crypto.com Arena? Well, according to teammate Austin Reaves, LeBron James should get a statue.
“Yeah, why not,” Reaves told Sports Illustrated. “You know, he came to L.A. at a time when they weren’t having much success and what was it, two, three years, he put a banner in the rafters? So, why not?”
Reaves added: “I mean, in my opinion, he’s the greatest player to ever play the game. You can argue it for sure, I mean, because there have been some really good players, but I’ve always said that you could name the best person at everything, scoring, rebounding, and you could argue that Bron can compete at the top in all those categories. So yeah, why not?”

Austin Reaves Wants To Win An NBA Championship With LeBron James And The Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers were swept in the 2023 Western Conference Finals by the Denver Nuggets. But that doesn’t mean that the Lakers cannot advance to the NBA Finals in the upcoming season.
In fact, Austin Reaves’ ultimate goal is to win an NBA Championship with the Lakers. He’d like the support of LeBron James in this quest.
“That’s my guy,” Reaves said. “I’ve learned a lot from him in the past two years. It feels good when he kind of validates that you can actually play. It’s been a special two years, and hopefully, we can go win a championship this year.”
Reaves averaged 16.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists in the 2023 playoffs. He played a crucial role in the team’s success in the postseason. But can the 25-year-old fulfill his dream of winning an NBA title next season? Only time will tell.
