The Boston Celtics fell to 3-0 down against the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals, losing 102-128 in Game 3. There’s no doubt that this was a terrible outcome for them, and there is no reason a team with this much talent should be facing such a deficit.

Recently, coach Joe Mazzulla admitted that he lost the Boston Celtics locker room, noting that he needs to be “better” to figure out what the team needs to be at its best. It is clear that he is disappointed with himself, and hopefully, that leads to improvement in the future.

“Yeah, it’s why I need to be better to figure out what this team needs.”

Though Joe Mazzulla is taking responsibility, this loss is also on the rest of the team. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown both had poor performances. This is a loss that will make the entire franchise reflect on how to be better, including its stars.

Of course, the series isn’t officially over. But no team has come back from 3-0 down, and it doesn’t seem likely that the Celtics will be able to do so. However, strange things happen in the league all the time, and perhaps the Celtics can be the first to deviate from the trend.
