The Chicago Bulls could see their best player leave the team this season if things don’t go well for them. DeMar DeRozan joined Chicago in 2021 amid rumors placing him in Los Angeles to go play with LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the Lakers.

He then decided to team up with Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic, and Lonzo Ball in Chicago, posting a solid first season together. However, things are different this campaign, and the Bulls are going through a bad moment right now, which has set the alarms for everybody.

Recent reports suggest that the communication between LaVine and the rest of the team is bad, and this could mean the shooting guard would be available for trade. Yet, none of that is official right now, and LaVine remains on the Bulls.

DeMar DeRozan’s Tenure With Chicago Bulls Could End Soon

DeMar DeRozan appears to be on the same route, as Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report writes that the veteran swingman could demand a trade if the team doesn’t turn things around and start playing at the best level soon.

The Chicago Bulls are dealing with some dysfunction as it pertains to team chemistry and accountability while stationed 11th in the Eastern Conference standings (13-18). If matters don’t improve this season, rivals executives believe it could lead star guard DeMar DeRozan to request to be moved in the offseason, league sources tell Bleacher Report.

DeRozan, who has been the Bulls’ most consistent star, has one year remaining on his deal. Playing on an expiring contract is a non-starter for most high-caliber players. The options: Extend after the season or ask for a new location. Chicago has its work cut out.

This would be huge for the Bulls, who have a lot of work to do right now. Some say the Lakers are keeping tabs on this situation, as they’re interested in DeRozan and Vucevic. Still, we just opened the trade season last week, so we’ll have to wait and see if the Bulls decide to blow it up or if the players are the ones who decide to end this era.
