NBA Fans Roast Kendrick Nunn For Zero Performance: “He’s Just Doing Cardio”

Nunn was the only Laker with nothing to show against the Sacramento Kings.

It’s not been a great season so far for Kendrick Nunn, and Los Angeles Lakers fans have been relentless when it comes to assessing his performance.

Nunn had a forgettable outing against the Sacramento Kings with zero of everything to show for in the stats column. The point guard had no points, rebounds, assists, steals, or blocks to his name after playing 11 minutes in a game sans Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, and Austin Reaves.

Over the last few weeks, Nunn has been in the news as one of the players available on the trade market along with Patrick Beverley, who has been going through a lean patch himself. While the latter’s defensive play and the locker room leadership qualities might still be factors in why LA might think of retaining him, the same can’t be said for the 27-year-old.

The former Miami Heat star is averaging 5.3 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.0 assists so far this season, and this comes as a shocker considering Darvin Ham looked at him as one of the starters ahead of the season.

NBA Fans React To Kendrick Nunn’s Disappointing Performance Against The Sacramento Kings

Nunn was the only Laker with nothing against the Sacramento Kings. Playing with only ten men, Los Angeles went down 134-120 at the Golden 1 Center, and every other Laker had some numbers to show.

After the Lakers acquired him from the Heat, Nunn didn’t play the entirety of the previous season due to an injury but had shown glimpses of his skill during training camp and the preseason, impressing Ham.

It was suggested a few days ago on Twitter that the Lakers should trade Nunn and Patrick Beverley for Fred VanVleet.

I want Nunn to do with it. https://t.co/Hvo2mZudCs

But remember, other teams should trade their good players to the Lakers for packages that include Nunn (5.3 PPG on 35 FG%, 29 3%). Just because… https://t.co/dq6LEaBtLn

Advanced stats from November showed Nunn as the second-worst player in the league, and that’s not something that can be associated with the guard. But the fact that he’s been his usual self cannot be ignored.

This further dents the Lakers’ options coming off the bench and Nunn’s value as a player. In all probability, he may find a new home before the trade deadline, and that might perhaps re-ignite the lost spark.
