While Ja Morant dominated on the court against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night, his father, Tee, showed off his dance moves on the sidelines. A video went viral on social media of the elder Morant dancing in front of the Pelicans fans.

Tee has, of course, played a big role in Ja getting to where he is today, and is seemingly by his side every step of the way. While I don’t necessarily have too much of an issue with him dancing on the sidelines here, the same can’t be said for everyone. Former NBA player Chandler Parsons, for one, was not a fan of it at all.

“Unbelievable.”

I understand that you’d want someone in their mid-40s like Tee to act a bit more maturely, but this really isn’t too big of a deal. Maybe some fans there might have gotten annoyed by his antics, but no one was hurt in any way, shape, or form.

Tee’s actions weren’t the only ones that the former NBA player took an issue with, as Parsons slammed Ja for his ‘Pistols and Bazooka’ celebration towards the end of the game. It was actually just a New Orleans dance, but the optics were so bad, considering he has been suspended twice for flashing a gun on social media. I can understand Parsons being not too pleased by that, but not the Tee situation.

Niya Morant Called Out Those Hating On Tee

Parsons was far from the only one to take issue with Tee. He got a fair bit of criticism over this dancing and his daughter, Niya, called out the haters.

Well, I don’t anyone needs to tell Tee to live his life to the fullest, as he’ll do that regardless of what the outside world has to say. He is perhaps a bit more amped up than usual, considering his son is back on the court after his 25-game suspension and is playing ever so well.

Morant is averaging 28.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game this season and the Memphis Grizzlies are 4-0 with him in the lineup. Against the Pelicans, he had 31 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks, to lead Memphis to a 116-115 win in overtime.

Tee Morant Says Ja’s Inner Circle Has Not Changed

With Ja having been involved in a fair few controversies in recent times, many have wondered if there are any bad influences around him. There was talk of him needing to associate with the right people following the suspension, but Tee says there has been no change in Morant’s inner circle.

“We got the same circle. We got the same circle… It’s always funny that people want you to change your circle even if, like, he don’t have no killers around him. He’s got educated people around him. But everyone else thinks, ‘Okay, this person is this, this person is that.’ No! Everybody knows their task. It was a bad decision. But it wasn’t a crime.”

Tee also stated Ja is not interested in being the face of the NBA. He also feels there have been other faces of the league who have done far worse things than his son did, but never faced the level of scrutiny that his son does.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
