There’s no way any NBA fan can have missed it, the Los Angeles Lakers have been celebrating a fair bit since they beat the Memphis Grizzlies. The fact that the team won by 40 points is a factor, but even more than that, the Grizzlies have not been allowed any slack because of how much talking they have done this season.

Ja Morant has dealt with his issues, but he’s been fairly arrogant with his comments when the Memphis Grizzlies were flying high. And the less said about Dillon Brooks at this point, the better. But Los Angeles Lakers players have been relentless with the roasting too.

Jarred Vanderbilt captioned his latest Instagram post with an NBA YoungBoy lyric, which is a subtle shot at Ja Morant: “Issaa parade inside my city yeaaa.”

After he returned to the court following his suspension earlier this season, Ja Morant used the same quote. It came after a win, and it was a wholesome moment with his daughter, but that doesn’t seem to matter much at the moment. The Los Angeles Lakers destroyed the Grizzlies by 40 points, and they’re going to do just as much talking as their opponents did during the series and for the rest of the season.

Ja Morant Says He’ll Deal With The Fallout Of His Arrogant Comments

Ja Morant famously said earlier in the season that he was ‘fine in the West.’ This came after he was asked about which team the Grizzlies would have to run through to claim the ultimate prize. Those comments were unlikely to age well, but getting blown out by 40 in a Game 6 in the first round to lose to the 7th seed is too bad at that point. Credit to Ja Morant though, he isn’t shying away from the fact that he said it

“Yeah, I don’t mind. I don’t care. I said it. I deal with it, so,” Morant said.

Jarred Vanderbilt isn’t the only Lakers player to do some trolling, Dennis Schroder posted a story on Instagram using an NBA YoungBoy song as well. And LeBron James’ weapon of choice was Jay Z’s lyrics when he had a point to make to the Grizzlies. Overall, it was an impressive win for the Lakers, but it’s time for them to focus on the next challenge in the playoffs.
