The Miami Heat booked their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday when they eliminated the New York Knicks in six games.

They are the first eighth seed to get to the Conference Finals since the 1999 Knicks and when Jimmy Butler was asked what sets this Heat team apart from a typical eighth seed, he had a hilarious response.

“We got Kyle Lowry,” Butler hilariously told reporters.

Lowry has had a decent postseason, averaging 10.1 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 4.5 APG, and 1.1 SPG in 11 games off the bench. He has played his part, sure, but what sets this team apart from your average eighth seed is Butler, who is averaging 31.1 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 5.4 APG, and 1.7 SPG. He finished off the Knicks in Game 6 with 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists and has been one of the best players in this postseason.

The Heat Still Have Their Doubters

The Heat have now made the Conference Finals in three of the last four seasons in what has been a very successful period for the franchise. This playoff run is arguably the most impressive of the lot, considering how much this team struggled during the regular season and the fact that Tyler Herro has missed much of this postseason.

They still have their doubters, though, with Chandler Parsons stating that the winner of the series between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers will beat the Heat. Miami will be the underdogs no matter who they face, but this team has shown it is more than capable of springing the upset. They are playing very well at the moment, and in Butler, have someone who can go toe-to-toe with just about anyone in the playoffs. He nearly dragged them past the Celtics last year despite not being fully healthy and will have revenge on his mind if the teams do face off this year as well.
