The Golden State Warriors are facing many questions after their second-round elimination against the Los Angeles Lakers in six games. The Dubs looked ready to win another title before the season started, but everything changed after training camp.

Now the Warriors are out of the competition and many players’ futures are reportedly in the air. Jonathan Kuminga is one of them, and the young guard has given an ultimatum to his team about his role on the lineup

“There’s an acknowledgment from the Warriors’ decision makers that some amount of rotation retooling is needed this summer. That could put Kuminga’s future in question. It’s been difficult to fit him into lineup combinations with both Green and Kevon Looney – two non-shooters – and that frontcourt logjam ahead of him is expected to remain in place.

“The Warriors and Kuminga’s representatives are expected to discuss his future this offseason, league sources say. Golden State will need to decide whether Kuminga will receive a full-time role moving forward, and, if not, league sources say the No. 7 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft will want to be somewhere he can play more.”

Anthony Slater and Shams Charania report that Golden State still believes their Big 3 is good to go and they aren’t slowing down anything soon, which opens the door for another run next season.

The Warriors Will Have An Entertaining Summer

However, not everybody might be on that team, and not even Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are safe now. The Warriors know they have a big task in hand, especially after such a tumultuous season.

Jordan Poole’s future appears to be out of the team and if Klay Thompson doesn’t take a pay cut, he might be out too. Draymond claimed he wants to stay on the Warriors for the rest of his career but anything can happen now.

Golden State has a lot of work to do, and everybody around the league will be paying attention to see if they can get some sort of benefit from this situation.
