This 2023 title run for Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets has led to many in the basketball world finally getting a really good look at the Serbian superstar.
Fans, in particular, have been left stunned by just how good Jokic is after he averaged 30.1 PPG, 13.5 RPG, 9.5 APG, 1.1 SPG, and 1.0 BPG in the 2023 playoffs. While Kevin Garnett always knew he was special, he has been left amazed by just how humble the Serb is.
“Joker looks like the most humblest motherf****r I’ve ever seen,” Garnett said on the Ticket and The Truth podcast. “I’ve never seen a player who’s won the NBA championship and he was just dormant. He was more into his daughter… He’s a one-of-one. I’ve never seen this. I’ve never seen the championship picture being taken with your best player in (the) third row of the picture.”
KG and Paul Pierce react to Jokić’s reaction to winning the NBA Finals.

As Garnett points out, Jokic was indeed all the way at the back when the team took a championship picture during the parade.
We normally see stars be front and center when their teams win a title and there’s nothing wrong with that. When you are the big star, no one is going to blame you for wanting to be in the front but that’s not Jokic’s mindset. He is all about the team and has always praised his teammates instead of hyping himself up.
It is what makes him so special in this day and age when everyone seems to be trying to build their own brand. Jokic is not concerned with any of that and as Garnett says, he is one-of-one.
Nikola Jokic’s Mindset Is Quite Different From NBA Stars
We have heard of the likes of Kobe Bryant being all about basketball and how it was by far the most important thing in their life. Jokic isn’t like that as he said basketball isn’t the main thing in his life, it’s just something he is very good at. He also stated that winning a championship isn’t everything in the world for him.
While he may have gotten some pushback on these comments had they failed to win the title, there’s nothing you can say after he’s won it. It is perfectly fine to have other things in your life as bigger priorities and what matters is working hard at your craft when it’s time to do so, as Jokic clearly has over the years.
