Patrick Beverley stole all the headlines last night after the first set of play-in games were completed. Beverley, who plays for the Timberwolves, helped them defeat his former team the LA Clippers, and secure the 7th seed in the Western Conference against the Grizzlies. Beverley celebrated vociferously after the final buzzer sounded, with many NBA players reacting to Pat Bev’s animated victory lap.
Kyle Kuzma and LeBron James took to Twitter to react to Patrick Beverley’s uniquely passionate celebration. James just shared a bunch of crying laughing emojis, whereas Kyle Kuzma hilariously noted that the Minnesota Timberwolves won the NBA championship because Beverley was celebrating like many players in the past have when they have won the final game of an NBA Finals.

Minnesota just won the chip
Both players were clearly having fun with their former LA rival. Between 2018 till 2021, all three players were in Los Angeles, with Kuzma and LeBron playing for the Lakers, and Patrick Beverley playing for the Clippers. The 2019-20 season was especially competitive between the two LA sides, as both were considered favorites to win the NBA championship. Ultimately, the Lakers would end up winning it all.
Beverley was known as the defensive enforcer for the Clippers. But it was his pesky and irritating behavior on the defensive end that has brought him so much success throughout his career. He doesn’t care who he guards, he will do everything in his power to get under his opponent’s skin. Beverley would even get under the skin of LeBron James during his time with the Clippers, something he took great pride in.
Beverley took more shots at the Clippers after the game was over, using some strong language talking about his former team. Beverley was overcome with emotion after helping the Timberwolves defeat the Clippers. But now he and Minnesota will focus on their series with the Memphis Grizzlies.
