NBA Rumors: New Orleans Pelicans Could Trade For Chris Paul

2 Min Read

The New Orleans Pelicans are reportedly interested in a reunion with one of the best players in franchise history. After departing in 2011, Chris Paul’s name wasn’t mentioned in New Orleans until recent times, as the veteran point guard keeps drawing attention from teams around the league. Following an impressive season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, CP3 is once again one of the best players in the league.

He took the Thunder to the playoffs when absolutely nobody believed they could compete in the stacked Western Conference, forced a Game 7 against the Houston Rockets and became one of the best stories in the league this campaign.

Of course, CP3 paid a big role in those events and knowing that the Thunder reportedly plans to go in full rebuilding mode, he has to keep his options open and try to find a new team in the association.

The New York Knicks and the Milwaukee Bucks have been linked with a move for the veteran but now the Pelicans could make a move for the 35-year-old. According to Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, the Pelicans could be interested in trading for CP3 and bring him back to where his NBA career started.

They have a group of young pieces that could be shipped to New Orleans, which would make things easier for everybody given the Thunder’s plans for next season. Moreover, any deal would probably involve defensive guard Jrue Holiday among other assets.

Paul landed in New Orleans in 2005 and he spent six years in Louisiana before he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers amid controversies in 2011. CP3 has recovered his All-Star status and now and plenty of things would be happy to have him on the roster.
