Ray Allen is a respected voice around the NBA after having a terrific career, winning two championships as one of the best players in the 2000s and the early 2010s.

Allen knows a thing or two about greatness, having played against his idol Michael Jordan and then clashing and sharing touches with LeBron James. When it comes to these two, Allen’s opinion matters a lot. The retired sharpshooter once explained that LeBron can’t do anything to surpass Michael Jordan as the GOAT.

“No,” Allen said when asked if LeBron could ever change his mind on the GOAT debate. “I think he’s certainly off the cuff. He’s certainly a top-5 player of all time. But, playing against him and MJ, I think, for me, MJ all day long.”

Allen went on to explain why Jordan is who he is and what makes him so great. The shooting guard detailed every advantage Mike had, saying that he had no weaknesses in his game.

“Only because MJ just had everything. Mid-range to 3-point to post-up game. He could score and dominate in his position… MJ didn’t have any other weaknesses in his game.”

The two-time NBA champion admitted that LeBron James was a better passer than Jordan, and he was dominant as well, but for him, nothing LeBron does will make him better than His Airness.

Allen has never been shy to share his thoughts on Michael Jordan and LeBron James. He’s always said that these two are on a separate level from the rest of the NBA, explaining that their greatness is much bigger than we have seen from other legends.

Ray Allen Admits Michael Jordan And LeBron James Are Incomparable

Ray says that they are incomparable since they have different styles of play and ways of approaching the game. This question has been floating around for so many years, and it seems like every day, people bring a new reason to name one of Jordan and James the GOAT.

Fans recently picked Jordan as the GOAT after seeing a picture comparing them. Rookie Jordan was better than 2012 MVP LeBron James, which shows the difference between the two legends.

Jordan collected six NBA championships during his honor career, adding five MVP awards, six Finals MVPs, one Defensive Player of the Year, and many more accolades.

James is a four-time NBA champion, the all-time scoring leader, a four-time NBA MVP, a four-time Finals MVP and probably the most complete player to set foot on the court.

When it comes to career comparison, Jordan is the greatest player to ever exist. Still, this doesn’t take anything away from LeBron.

Their careers are still different, but the King has made the most of his options in the league. Many people say we should stop comparing them and simply enjoy their greatness, but this debate won’t stop for many years.
