Stephen Curry got honest about the impact of basketball on his life

The 35-year-old guard is entering his 15th season in the NBA with the Golden State Warriors

Curry is hoping to add a fifth championship ring to his resume this season

The Golden State Warriors have to fight against the end of their dynasty after a nearly decade-long run without a loss in the Western Conference playoffs ended last season with their second-round loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Stephen Curry has had an incredible career so far and will be 36 by the time the 2024 playoffs start. He reflected on his career and everything that basketball has allowed him to achieve.

“Basketball has opened up so many amazing doors, and it’s changed so many lives for the better. And to be able to do that in a very meaningful way is very surreal to me, just because this is a game that I just loved to play from the time I could walk. And now you realize, like, how it’s over delivered on impact.”

Curry averaged 29.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 6.3 assists last season and will go into battle with a revamped Warriors squad featuring Chris Paul instead of Jordan Poole.

Can The Warriors Compete Atop The West?

The Warriors have terrorized the West when healthy over the last decade, but last season saw them struggle the entire year. They barely avoided falling into the play-in tournament and were then eliminated by the seventh seed. Jordan Poole and Draymond Green’s pre-season spat clouded over the franchise, as a reported dislike of Poole permeated the locker room, even affecting coach Steve Kerr.

The West is loaded with talent this year. The Nuggets lost rotational players but have a pipeline of young talent that will hope to soak up those minutes and keep the team the favorites in the West. The Suns and Lakers have taken strides forward, while the Clippers are waiting to see if they can land James Harden

Adding the Grizzlies, Mavericks, Thunder, Kings, Wolves, and Pelicans to the mix, the Warriors will have to fight to not lose their place in a deep conference.
