Stephen Curry and LeBron James are without a doubt, two of the greatest players in the history of the NBA. Both LeBron and Curry have had a massive impact on the sport, and have found incredible success in the NBA. LeBron and Curry have been on opposite sides for most of their careers, playing against each other in 4 consecutive NBA Finals between 2014 to 2018. But could Stephen Curry and LeBron James actually play together?

LeBron James certainly wants to play with Stephen Curry. Recently, James noted that he would love the opportunity to play on the same team as Curry. The two have been teammates at the All-Star game for 2 years in a row, and have enjoyed playing with each other. But Stephen Curry actually cooled those discussions, responding that he is ‘good’ where he is right now.

Stephen Curry elaborated further on the idea of playing with LeBron James in his recent interview with his teammate, Draymond Green. Curry noted that given their style of play and the impact they’ve had on the game, he has thought a lot about it. But considering how difficult it would be to make it happen, he hasn’t tried focusing on it too much and even dismissed the idea (1:18 onwards).

“Okay, if you take a fantasy draft and like building a team and you have what Bron can do and the way I can shoot the ball like obviously there is a curiosity, what would that look like? But also there is realism, that is why I said, I’m good right now. But if this was 2K, that be pretty lethal.”

Stephen Curry also shared a story of LeBron sending him a jersey of his while he was still in college. Curry and LeBron clearly have a great deal of mutual respect for each other. The years that LeBron and Curry spent trying to outdo each other and win NBA championships have allowed both players to realize just how good the other is.

Seeing LeBron James and Stephen Curry on the same team would be a dream for many NBA fans. LeBron is a pass-first player, and one of the best passers in NBA history. LeBron having the ability to run the floor and have a floor-spacer like Stephen Curry, who is without a doubt the greatest shooter of all time, would make for an incredible sight. Fans of the NBA can hope that the two stars eventually play for the same team in their careers.
