Despite being worth over $1 billion, LeBron James doesn’t spend his money carelessly. In fact, in a Tweet of his own words, he admitted to being too cheap to pay for Twitter’s infamous blue checkmark.
However, that’s only one example of LeBron’s money-saving techniques. According to Taylor Rooks, multiple players have also told her about LeBron not paying for data roaming services.
“Players always say LeBron doesn’t even pay for data roaming and will wait forever to get to a place with wifi because he refuses to do that extra cost….so this definitely tracks.”

Apparently, James also refused to pay for the ad-free version of the music-playing platform Pandora.
“One of the most underrated great moments of covering the 4 straight Finals years was walking into the locker room, listening to music blaring from LeBron’s speaker at his locker and hearing commercials play in between because he wouldn’t pay to upgrade to commercial-free Pandora.”

Of course, LeBron is free to use his money however he sees fit, and he clearly knows how to manage his resources well, given the numerous projects and business dealings he has been involved with over the years.
But it’s still surprising that James doesn’t just pay for the best version of tech/entertainment services, given that he can afford to pay for them with no difficulty at all.
So, instead of giving up his money on pointless perks, he dedicates his resources to extending his career instead.
LeBron Pays Millions To Maintain His Body
James has been very cautious and smart with his body since entering the league. He’s devoted millions of dollars and hours upon hours of time every summer to keep himself in the best shape, and it has resulted in a 20-year run as one of the best in the game.
“Longevity at a high level comes at a cost,” wrote Chris Haynes. “Chris Paul will be 37 in May, and his production hasn’t dipped. He shared with me this morning that he spends about $1 million on body maintenance ranging from trainers, nutritionists, personal chefs, massage therapists. His good friend LeBron James reportedly spends about $1.5 million on his body.”
So, it seems like LeBron has his priorities in order. Despite having nearly endless resources, he is somewhat conservative with how he spends his money.
Fortunately, that habit has allowed James to grow his riches and his empire further than anyone imagined.
