LeBron James is excited that his Los Angeles Lakers do not have a game tonight as he can attend the 2023 McDonald’s All-American Game to watch his son, Bronny, play.

Bronny was making a big impact yesterday in the Powerade Dunk Contest, though he ended up losing the competition. The game is all that matters and LeBron was amped up after seeing his son drain his first 3 of the night.

Bronny has shown some great flashes in this game but that will further boost his profile for recruitment. He’s shown his range as a shooter while also proving his mettle as a decent distributor. His defense is shining, as Bronny has been active in forcing offensive players to be uncomfortable with his hounding style of perimeter D.

LeBron was a phenom as a prospect, with his talent and athletic gifts solidifying his ticket to the NBA. Bronny’s path to basketball fame was solidified by virtue of being LBJ’s son, but he has worked incredibly hard on his game to get to the level he is now. After spending most of his high school career as a lower-ranked 3-star or 4-star prospect, James became a 5-star prospect this year as a senior.

Where Is Bronny Headed Next?

Everyone knows that Bronny is headed to the league in 2024 and may see his father join whichever team Bronny gets drafted to. They want to play on the same team together and this may be the best way to do it. That’s 2024, so what does Bronny do for the basketball season in 2023-24 before the draft?

James is choosing between 3 colleges at this moment and will have to make a decision soon. He’s the only player at the All-American Game that hasn’t committed to a program for college just yet. Given the challenges of recruiting someone like Bronny, he will be deliberate with this decision and make it only after LeBron and Savannah James approve of it.

He is expected to be a top-10 draft prospect in 2024, with player comparisons ranging from being De’Anthony Melton to Jrue Holiday.
