Sharpe was clearly taken aback by the whole situation. In the immediate wake of the incident, he came out and claimed that he was hacked. He clarified later on the show that he was not hacked, and that he got on Instagram Live by accident. An incident like this can be very serious.
Sharpe has been very proactive in having conversations with all of his professional contacts so that this unsavory incident doesn’t jeopardize his prospects in the future. While Sharpe made a mistake, he clearly didn’t intend to and wasn’t doing anything in bad faith or in poor taste.

Sharpe has seemingly capitalized on his accidental virality and is leveraging that to expand his personal and professional brand. As things stand, there is no word on if this will affect his working relationship with ESPN or Disney.
