Draymond Green sent a stern message to a stacked Western Conference ahead of the Golden State Warriors win against the Boston Celtics.

True to his message, the Warriors notched up a comprehensive 123-107 win against the formidable Celtics at home. Stephen Curry (32 points) and Klay Thompson (34 points), and Jordan Poole (20 points) went on the offensive, while Green and Jonathan Kuminga’s defense was pivotal in handing them a win.

The win sees the Warriors in eighth place in the West with a 14-13 record. And going by Green’s thoughts, should they continue to be consistent, the defending champions will have finally arrived at the party after a sloppy run so far.

Green had 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists against Boston. After what has been a tumultuous off-season for the veteran, he’s finally looked his old self, and that had head coach Steve Kerr lavishing praise, calling him “phenomenal.”

How Have The Golden State Warriors Fared This Season?

While they have been a far cry from the clinical outfit they were last season, the Golden State Warriors are still one of the teams capable of turning the game on its head.

They have had a sine wave-like run so far this season and came into the Boston skirmish on the back of consecutive losses against the Indiana Pacers and the Utah Jazz. They are yet to make the top five in the West.

The route through isn’t easy as the conference is stacked with teams playing some of their best basketball. That said, the Warriors also have two sharpshooters that no other team has, and even one of them heating up every game night is enough to vault them right to the top.

Curry has been consistent for Golden State this season, averaging 30.0 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 7.0 assists, and is in the  MVP conversation already, while Thompson, after a relatively sluggish start, averages 18.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. In Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole, they have the firepower to close out games.

The Warriors play the Milwaukee Bucks next, followed by another clash against the Indiana Pacers. Wins in both games will see them further consolidate their position in the West.
