By now, it’s no secret that LeBron James goes to extraordinary lengths to keep his mind and body in top-tier shape. After 20 years of long and grueling seasons, one can only imagine how much it takes for James to ensure he stays effective at this stage of his career.

Speaking on television during a March Madness game, Lakers guard Lonnie Walker IV confirmed the rumors of LeBron’s routine and even went so far as to call him a ‘living robot’ for the relentless work he put into perfecting his craft.

“For him to be in Year 20 and always be in the gym first, working out, already got a sweat, watching film, talking, telling us certain little things to do, it’s ridiculous,” Walker said, via Bleacher Report. “This dude is a living robot, man. He knows the game inside and out. He knows every other team’s plays. … He’s a leader. He’s a vocalized leader and he leads by actions as well.”

LeBron has always been a freak of nature, but we’ve never seen individual greatness at this level span over such a long period of time.

This season alone, at 38 years old, James is averaging a ridiculous 29 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game on 50% shooting.

LeBron Is The King Of Longevity

A ‘robot’ isn’t too inaccurate of a description for James as a player. Despite so many years of experience in a constantly-changing league, LeBron continues to find ways to be effective on the court and postpone the effects of aging.

According to LeBron, it all has to do with his rigorous training and work ethic over the years — along with spending millions to preserve his body.

“I train my body for whatever. I’m not your typical guy in his 18th season,” LeBron said in 2020. “I train my body for a marathon… they say if you stay ready, you never have to get ready.”

So, we know that LeBron is still a beast when he’s healthy, and the Lakers are looking like a real threat this year with him and Anthony Davis back to their old ways.

Beyond that, however, nobody is certain where the road ends for King James or when his game will finally take the dip his haters were expecting many years ago.

At this point, I’m starting to doubt if his decline will come at all before he retires on his own terms…
