Nikola Jokic is currently at the top of the NBA world, he is a champion and the reigning Finals MVP. In winning the ultimate prize though, Jokic has made it clear that his life is about more than just basketball.

The Denver Nuggets man doesn’t have the same obsessive ‘basketball is everything’ vibe that Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant became known for. And an NBA analyst on the ‘Jenkins & Jonez’ podcast hilariously brought this up, comparing Jokic to the iconic character of Stanley Hudson from the TV show, The Office.

“The whole mentality that a lot of American athletes have of ‘ball is life’ and all that sh*t. Nah, not for Jokic bro. Ball is not life for that fella. Ball is job. Ball is hobby. And honestly, that’s very relatable to me because we’ve seen guys like Kobe Bryant and guys like Michael Jordan who… I’ve never been as maniacally obsessed with anything as those two were obsessed with basketball.

“Although I admire their dedication, I could never relate to it. But you know, a guy like Jokic who is really good at his job and views it as just a job, yeah, I can for sure relate. With Jokic, we’ve got a guy that’s adding a new perspective here… He doesn’t approach the game like Michael Jordan or like Kobe Bryant does. This dude approaches the game like Stanley from The Office.”

Nikola Jokic’s reaction to winning the championship went viral, with him talking about wanting to go home and being done with the season even right after they had just won. His personality and his priorities have both shone during this title run, and many fans find him to be quite relatable thanks to those things.

Nikola Jokic Has Been Enjoying The Title Celebrations Quite A Bit

Despite initially seeming dismayed that he would have to wait the rest of the week before going to Serbia for the parade, Jokic has since changed his mind. He said as much at the parade, enjoying the vibe in the city and with his teammates, also getting Bruce Brown quite drunk

He was seen partying in Las Vegas on Thursday night too and after his historical performance in these playoffs, he more than deserves it. Nikola Jokic is as much of a unicorn as the NBA has ever seen and we have to enjoy him while he’s still in the prime of his career.
