The Los Angeles Lakers have put together three consecutive wins to keep their climb up the standings alive after beating the Houston Rockets 134-109.

Anthony Davis remained the star man for LA, scoring 40 points on the night to guarantee the win. Fans were overjoyed to see another game go into the win column.

Fans reminded each other of how much better the team has been since the Russell Westbrook trade, “Lakers are now 15-7 since trading Russell Westbrook. 6-1 when LeBron plays. Who could’ve foreseen this?”

Anthony Davis being healthy has excited fans, “The most encouraging thing about today? Anthony Davis displayed *zero* physical limitations after tweaking the foot/ankle vs Minnesota. Dropped 40 for good measure.”

While Davis led the team, LeBron James had an all-around triple-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists. Austin Reaves also had 18 points while Rui Hachimura chipped in with 20 off the bench.

The Rockets didn’t look to try and ensure they could walk away with a win on the night. Jalen Green led them in scoring with 24 on the night, while Kevin Porter Jr. also scored 20 points.

How Far Can The Lakers Climb?

The Lakers only have 4 games left in the regular season to decide their fate for the postseason. They are currently the 7th seed, half a game behind the Clippers who they face on Wednesday. The New Orleans Pelicans are also rising behind the Lakers, so it’ll be a close race to determine which teams end up in the play-in and who secures the elusive 6th seed.

Mathematically, the Lakers could still realistically climb up to the 4th seed if they won every single game and the team ahead of them went .500 or worse, but that’s an optimistic scenario. The sixth seed is most definitely within reach based on what Darvin Ham anyway set out to achieve after the trade deadline.

The Lakers face Utah, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Utah again in their final games of the season.
