The Drew League is the premier offseason basketball tournament, regularly seeing some of the best NBA players come and participate in keeping their basketball skills sharp against some of the best pro-am players in the country.
Last year, we saw LeBron James and DeMar DeRozan participate in the Drew League. Kyrie Irving was expected to team up with Bron before he no-showed last season, but this year Irving has announced he will be participating in the summer competition.
“I will be playing this year. It’s about time Uncle Drew came to the Drew.”

Everyone has said for years that Irving’s style would be an almost perfect fit for streetball. Unless Irving wants to pull up to Rucker Park after his acrimonious exit from New York, playing in the Drew will surely give fans something incredible to watch.
This year’s edition started on June 10 and is expected to continue for 13 weeks.
Kyrie Irving In Demand This Offseason
The reports about Kyrie Irving’s future have left many fans wondering what might be true. The Lakers have reportedly lost interest in bringing the guard to the roster after a season’s worth of speculation. The Dallas Mavericks seem to be in the front seat to re-sign their player and have a better outcome for the Irving and Luka Doncic duo next season after falling from the fourth seed to the 11th after acquiring Kyrie.
The Houston Rockets have emerged as suitors and can easily sign Kyrie to an offer sheet without needing Dallas in a sign-and-trade. If the team fails to convince James Harden to leave Philadelphia, this might be their next option.
Irving had a great season on paper this year, being named an All-Star starter while averaging 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists.
