Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard have no love lost for each other, but Shaq was praiseful of Howard’s recent performance in the 3-point contest of the Taiwan Super Basketball League.

O’Neal recently mocked Dwight for struggling to lead the Taoyuan Leopards to a better record in the league but had nice things to say when it came to Howard’s showing in the 3-point contest.

“He looked pretty good, nice form. The man had 14 points, I can’t get 14 points. I ain’t got nothing to say. I got G-14 qualification, you have got to understand that when I talk, I got the classification. The man is a better 3-point shooter than me. Unless we put up a rack here one day and I beat 14.”

Shaq has earlier mocked Dwight for other issues in his stint in Taiwan, including being sized up by former NBA player Sim Bhullar.

Dwight Howard Hoping For An Eventual NBA Return?

Dwight Howard knows how the bright lights of the NBA feel. He is a former champion and was one of the best players in the league in his prime. However, we are almost a decade removed from his prime and Dwight has been a rotational big in his last few NBA stops.

After a season full of struggles on the 2021-22 Lakers, Howard did not receive an NBA contract in the summer, prompting him to take his talent to Taiwan. Some teams could still find a use for Howard but it seems the NBA has progressed past the need for a player like Howard, who’s not an NBA-level shooter, at the end of his athletic prime. He may still be in the mix for a contract when the summer of 2023 comes around, but teams could overlook him again as they did in 2022.
