After a resoundingly successful NBA 2K23 sales cycle, the team will be hoping to keep that momentum alive with NBA 2K24. Everyone will be hoping the game improves on previous iterations, starting with the ratings they give to players.

  • How Fun Will The Warriors Be In NBA 2K24?

It isn’t easy to take over 30 player attributes and accurately give every player the right tendencies and numbers across the board. The Golden State Warriors are going to be a tough team to rank because of their inconsistent 2022-23 season which saw the team lose in the second round of the playoffs at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Last week, we predicted the Lakers’ players’ rating in NBA 2K24, and now it’s time to predict the rating for the best franchise in the last 10 years.

With the team choosing to make a big acquisition for a declining Chris Paul and make minimal free-agent movements, the team could find itself in trouble on the court next season. But in terms of 2K, will the Warriors remain a fan favorite for gamers with the ratings on the roster? Let’s try and see how the team will look in NBA 2K24.

Lester Quinones – 68

Lester Quinones Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: 67

Lester Quinones made his way into the NBA last season after being signed by the Golden State Warriors as an undrafted free agent. After a season with the G League squad, Quinones will remain on the squad heading into training camp. He had a sensational Summer League, where he was top-ten in scoring with 21.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists. The 6’4″ guard will get a slight overall bump but nothing that warrants rotational time just yet.

Trayce Jackson-Davis – 69

Trayce Jackson-Davis Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: N/A

Trayce Jackson-Davis fell to the 57th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and will be looking to prove his worth as a rookie on the Warriors. The 6’10” big man played two games in Summer League but showed potential as a two-way threat, averaging 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 2,0 blocks. He should start his career on the outside of 70, with room to grow as the season progresses.

Cory Joseph – 73

Cory Joseph Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: 74

One of the few free-agent signings the Warriors made this summer came with Cory Joseph. The former Pistons’ guard averaged 6.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists last season and will provide additional depth at point guard behind the injury-prone duo of Stephen Curry and Chris Paul. Joseph has seen his stock in the NBA dip every season, with an end-of-the-becnh role in Golden State leading to a slight decline to a 73 overall in NBA 2K24.

Brandin Podziemski – 74

Brandin Podziemski Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: N/A

The Warriors selected Brandin Podziemski with the 19th pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and he has some big expectations to live up to. Podziemski had a tough Summer League, averaging just 9.0 points on 26.3% shooting from the field. He did showcase his versatile skill set, as the 6’5″ swingman averaged 6.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists. He may have to fight for a look into the rotation but his versatility may make him a very dependable piece whenever the team requires it.

Dario Saric – 75

Dario Saric Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: 76

The most high-profile free agency addition by the financially inflexible Warriors was picking up Dario Saric on a minimum. Saric left the Suns to provide a veteran body on the Warriors’ frontline behind Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, and Jonathan Kuminga. Saric averaged 6.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists last season with Phoenix and brings stretchability at his position to GSW. He hasn’t been a massively influential player in years and will likely see his overall tumble by one to 75.

Moses Moody – 75

Moses Moody Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: 73

Moses Moody will be heading into his third season with Golden State and will hope to lock a place in the rotation in 2023-24. The 14th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft hasn’t shown the consistency needed to play regularly for the contending outfit, but he’s shown enough progress to get regular playing time, even if it may be limited. He continues his climb up 2K ratings with a 75 after averaging 5.8 points and 2.6 rebounds in the limited playoff action he got last season.

Gary Payton II – 77

Gary Payton II Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: 77

Gary Payton II was so important to the Warriors when they made their championship run that the team went out of their way to reacquire him mid-season after letting him go the previous summer. He’s a standout defender that has shown minimal offensive progress in the last few years. His age would indicate a dropoff coming off soon, but he provided exactly what he’s expected to, even though his last season’s averages of 4.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 steals are impacted by the injuries he suffered.

Kevon Looney – 78

Kevon Looney Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: 78

Kevon Looney has become a member of the Warriors core, having won three championships with the squad. Even though he received limited playing time earlier in his career, Looney has now carved out a role for himself as the perfect starting center for Golden State. He provides defense and rebounding on a team that has been lax on that front since their championship win. There’s no reason to indicate Looney will be getting worse next season, but it also doesn’t seem like he will be taking a big step forward. He averaged 7.0 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists last season and will likely stand pat at 78.

Jonathan Kuminga – 79

Jonathan Kuminga Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: 78

Jonathan Kuminga may be the perfect lynchpin to bridge the current era of the Warriors with the future. Even though there has been instability with his role, Kuminga averaged 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists last season and showed he can be a standout defender. The expected successor to Draymond Green is already on the squad and he’s likely to get more opportunity throughout this season on the wing. He didn’t take a big step on the court but he progressed enough to justify a +1 bump to his overall for NBA 2K24.

Draymond Green – 83

Draymond Green Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: 83

Draymond Green is one of the league’s standout defenders and had some big moments for Golden State throughout the year. Even though he may have been a locker room sore spot and averaged low numbers of 8.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.8 assists, his impact on the team’s setup is inarguable. He was still one of their lead playmakers last season and easily their best defender. The version we saw in 2022 and the version we saw last season aren’t that far apart, so he should hold on to his rating.

Andrew Wiggins – 83

Andrew Wiggins Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: 82

Andrew Wiggins was expected to emerge as the Warriors’ secondary option last season but a troubled season meant he couldn’t take a big step forward. The Canadian forward’s average of 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.2 steals do show his increasing comfort in the Warriors’ system as their primary two-way wing. Wiggins impacted the Warriors on the court profoundly when he was available and that should lead to a reward +1 bump from the 82 overall he ended NBA 2K23 with.

Chris Paul – 84

Chris Paul Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: 87

The big offseason swing for Golden State was the acquisition of Chris Paul for Jordan Poole. Even though Paul is a much steadier and more reliable guard than the inconsistent Poole, he is much older and had an unimpressive season last year. His averages of 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 8.9 assists aren’t exactly impressive as he got hurt in the playoffs again. He’ll definitely bring value to the Warriors but an 87 overall for the declining Paul seems unreasonable. He’ll likely level out at 84 and be the team’s sixth man in-game.

Klay Thompson – 85

Klay Thompson Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: 86

Klay Thompson had a season full of ups and downs in 22-23. He was getting outplayed by Jordan Poole off the bench for the start of the season before having a stretch of games where he was single-handedly carrying the Warriors to wins. Many would have assumed a big fall from 86 for the Warriors’ swingman, but his averages of 21.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists last season prove that putting him anything lower than 85 will be a travesty.

Stephen Curry – 96

Stephen Curry Warriors

NBA 2K23 Rating: 96

Stephen Curry is one of the best players in the world and nothing that happened over the last season changed that fact. He wasn’t impenetrable, as evidenced in the Warriors’ loss to the Lakers in the playoffs but he definitely put up a fight. Injuries took a toll on him last season but he still averaged 29.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 6.3 assists in the playoffs. He’s in the last few years where he can single-handedly carry a team to a deep playoff run, so giving him a 96, among the best in the NBA, is fitting.

How Fun Will The Warriors Be In NBA 2K24?

The Golden State Warriors promise to be as fun as they have always been on NBA 2K, as they still have one of the best players in the game as their leader in Curry. Klay Thompson has been considered one of the best 2K characters to use in the game for the reliability of his jump shot and good finishing ability. Even with all of Jordan Poole’s flaws, he made playing with the Warriors extremely exciting, something Chris Paul may struggle to do given his slower and more calculated play style.

Jonathan Kuminga and Andrew Wiggins would be a tough forward pair to play against if Draymond’s lack of an offensive skill set is a problem. Green’s defense doesn’t really translate as well within the game due to his size but he can still be reliably used in certain situations. Kevon Looney is an incredibly proficient screener, roller, and rebounder to be the perfect center on a team with Curry.

The bench weakness may make it tough to play a full game and make regular substitutions, but the exciting play style of Moses Moody could help those periods. This is just as lethal a team in 2K as they’ve always been, but this may be the final few years where we can enjoy this team at the peak of its powers.
